Children's Eye Care
Sarah has had a particular interest in Children's Eyecare since she started working at Booth Hall Children's Hospital in Manchester in 1992. She worked there until it's closure in 2009. She performs paediatric eye exams for Tameside and Glossop Foundation Trust in the local clinics
Babies and toddlers have different facial characteristics to adults so scaled down versions of adult frames are not suitable. At Sarah Dineen Opticians we specialise in eyewear for the very young.
We stock Centrostyle, Tomato glasses, Miraflex, Swissflex & Zoobug and are constantly looking out for new frames that make the difficult job of putting your baby in spectacles that little bit easier.
As mothers ourselves, whose children needed spectacles (Sarah's 2 boys wore them from 3 years old and Bev's daughter from 12 months), we can offer help and support not only as professionals but also as mums.
Mothers who are concerned about their toddlers eyes are often told by high street opticians that their children can't be examined before they can read. Sarah is happy to see children of any age and has several different vision tests using pictures and shapes.
It is important that children's spectacles are only dispensed by qualified opticians, so although you are welcome to call in at any time, it is advisable to phone and check when Sarah or Andrea are available and perhaps book an appointment.
